Good evening, and much love. This week has been a very eventful, stressful and successful week for both Refuge Recovery Kalamazoo and Om Yoga Kalamazoo. First let me start off by saying thank you to Refuge Recovery Kent for welcoming RRKZOO into your room for a meeting. I felt loved, and was able to attend a meeting that I finally got to sit in on, and not have to do a lot of talking. This allowed me to observe my patience and also see how meetings are run elsewhere. Thank you to the chair person as well for giving me some pointers on increasing our numbers here and spreading the work. I will utilize your guerilla tactics and make things happen.
I sat in on the chair yoga class at OYK tonight, which is a class specifically designed for people with limited mobility. I have to say that I am very proud of Julie for not only doing what she loves, but being patient and adjusting her practice to include people that would normally have a difficult time performing yoga. The people in the class were joyous, happy and enjoyed what they were doing. They got a good workout too. The chair yoga is perfect for anyone and it was just my speed. Well done, keep up the good work.
RRKZOO had its fourth meeting tonight and I saw some familiar faces and met some new ones. It was great to finally have a turnout that wasn’t voluntold to attend. The people that were there had nothing but excellent things to say and it made me feel as if I am in fact doing the right thing. For that, thank you to those who attended. It also opened up yet another door for my adventures in Medisitting. I think I may be taking the show on the road in the near future to spread the word to those that are unable to leave the facilities they are in. This includes of course sobriety houses and minor lock down facilities.
As our numbers (hopefully) continue to grow, I am looking forward to spreading the good Kharma (fruit) and sharing my experiences with others in the area. Getting the word out about Refuge Recovery as a program that caters to everyone, and making myself better at the same time. As the title of my favorite Loggins and Messina album says, sometimes I don’t mind just “sittin in”.
Namaste
