Suit Up! Lake Charles Louisiana
One of my favorite things about travel, is being able to stimulate the local economy, interact with the employees and get insight into the area around me. When I hear “I’m not really from around here” I start to pay more attention to the other conversations. That has been a wonderful way to maintain safety as an outsider. But, if you want to know the truth about the neighborhood-ask at the local shops.
Gas stations are fine, but commonly the people that work in the gas station are transplants from outside of the city-away from the hustle and bustle of whatever town you are in. While Lake Charles Louisiana is no Mecca by any stretch, the hospitality has been bar none the best we have experienced on our journey so far. Never have I gone to the extreme to ENSURE that I have someone’s business card, but EVERY business card I have gotten here, I have gotten two of. One for me, and perhaps one for you (parking lot look included in every GBH package! )
While we attempt to do silly things when we promote our brand, we still take what we do seriously. Case in point, I shook hands with my salesman today before our interaction (he was helping a customer and came to introduce himself and excuse himself politely) and at least twice after speaking for a moment. His outfit crisp, well put together, and somewhat of a scoff to my typical taste, as this fella-looked fly AF! To maintain the professional meter of my blogs however, he was an amazing sales person. As has a majority of every person we have met so far.
That being said, and for the sake of maintaining the interest of my reader, I have included the review that I gave this salesperson. This review is posted on Google and their Facebook page. I usually don’t cross post the same content because I don’t feel it to be genuine, but I had already posted to their Facebook when I saw they wanted a Google review. I feel if your employee is taking the time to help me, and I am taking the time to endorse a company that is NOT reimbursing me, they deserve to be talked about. Good, bad or otherwise…..but truthfully-I really like this state and the demeanor. Thank you all for your encouragement and help along the way.
Would it be improper to start a donation page to keep our dream alive? Let us know in the comments. If you really want to support us, share out our blog posts. I will be splitting the gumballhead.com website away from gumballheadworldwide.com. I will be dividing them between services and travel. Again, thank you for joining us on this journey

I am a lecturer from out of state, here on a business venture. I stopped by the local thrift shop, and found a fancy pair of dress pants that I couldn’t live without, and needed some suspenders to complete the “vibe”. I searched a few of the other local shops (shop local-live local) and came up empty handed.
A different local vendor sent me to this location, and glad they did. David Thibadeaux was working, and he took great care of me. He was interested into the why I was there, we chatted about their watches, and some of the other clothing on the racks. Definately will be returning soon for a wardrobe upgrade. For the size I need, and what they can get, I would pay three times the amount in MICHIGAN…..THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT FOR A FULL SUIT!!!!! Meaning here, I can get three for the price of one from home. I kinda think that is a great deal…for a guy who doesn’t belong in a suit shop ![]()
Sure there are local chain stores in the area where deep discounts are available, but the same style is what everyone else is wearing-this place lets you decide, with a little help from my friend! (David, that’s my friend). Not a sales pitch, I have a mowhawk, tattoos and a “doesn’t usually shop in places like this” vibe…and he was awesome, respectful, and ready to help. Kudos to the other shop for helping his local competition-stay in competition by helping out. Take back small shops!
